Parkes Institute Interview with Visiting Professor, Moshe Naor, author of 'In the city of two springs: Perceptions of Mosul's Jewish quarter among Zionist and Alliance Israélite Universelle emissaries'

"My article discusses the history of the Jews of Mosul in the first half of the twentieth century. The first part of the article examines the descriptions written by the Alliance Israélite Universelle emissaries who visited Mosul regarding the way of life of the local Jewish community. Drawing on the emissaries' reports and accounts, I sought to present the development of the Jewish community, which was concentrated in Mahallat al-Yahud, as the Jewish neighborhood was called in Arabic."
