Conversation with Professor Eric Alterman, author of We Are Not One: A History of America's Fight Over Israel

Professor Alterman will be in conversation with Professor Shaul Magid of Dartmouth College about American Jews, Israel, and the future of the American-Jewish and Isaeli relationship on Thursday, May 4th at 12:15pm on ZOOM

The question of American Jews' relationship to Israel has always been a topic of heated debate, even after the so-called "Zionist consensus" emerged after the Six-Day War in 1967. In We Are Not One, CUNY Distinguished Professor of English Eric Alderman offers us a broad perspective on Israel in the American imagination, both Jewish and governmental, in an attempt to offer much-needed nuance and context to an ever-changing relationship, especially in our time.
