Susannah Heschel quoted in Haaretz

"Our decision to write this book together arose from our frustration over recent scholarship in Jewish studies that excludes, ignores, or tokenizes women," the chair of the Jewish Studies Program writes in a new book she co-authored, The Woman Question in Jewish Studies.

The chair of the Jewish Studies Program, Susannah Heschel, was recently quoted in Haaretz for her book 'The Woman Question in Jewish Studies', which she co-authored with Sarah Imhoff, the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Chair in Jewish Studies and Associate Professor in the Jewish Studies Program at Indiana University.

"In 'The Woman Question in Jewish Studies,' professors Susannah Heschel and Sarah Imhoff show that discrimination and harassment are commonplace in their field. 'Men feel it brings them down to footnote women's scholarship,' says Heschel."
